Just in time for the holidays, Mercury releases a new CD of magnificent Christmas Concertos by Baroque masters, performed on period instruments with an approachable, fresh and energetic take.

Franz Schubert's seminal string quartet "Death and the Maiden", in an arrangement by Gustav Mahler, and Felix Mendelssohn's String Quartet in D Major, Op. 44, No. 1, both featuring Mercury's full string orchestra.

Les Indes Galantes was originally an opera-ballet and is presented on this recording as an orchestral suite. This work features colorful compositions for strings, winds, percussion, haprishord, and theorbo. The music depicts scenes from many parts of the globe including Peru, Turkey, and North America.

Our popular recording of Vivaldi’s L’Estro Armonico! The unanimous crowd favorite of our 2009-2010 season, Mercury recorded these epic Violin Concertos by Vivaldi in March, 2010. This recording features Jonathan Godfrey, Oleg Sulyga, Noel Martin and Hae-a Lee as violin soloists and Barrett Sills on cello.

Vivaldi: Concertos from L'estro Armonico, Op.3 

This unique recording pairs the well-known Four Seasons of Antonio Vivaldi with the Four Seasons of 20th century Argentinean tango composer Astor Piazzolla. Mercury’s concertmaster Jonathan Godfrey dazzles as the violin soloist.

Mercury’s strings, the core of the ensemble, show their virtuosity and musicality in six of the twelve concerti from Handel’s Opus 6. This recording features Mercury’s own Jonathan Godfrey and Oleg Sulyga, violins, and Barrett Sills, cello.

Handel: Concertos from the Op. 6.

This opera, one of Handel's most highly regarded, was fully-staged as part of Mercury’s 2005-2006 season. The recording features Mercury regulars, soprano Ana Treviño-Godfrey, DMA as Galatea, tenor Karim Sulayman as Acis, and bass-baritone Sam Handley as Polypheme.
